    Brief Word From The Editor. . . . Richard Knight

    Wow! A new year is almost upon us. It seems like, as fast as 2005 is leaving, 2006 is coming quicker and quicker around the corner. (At least for me it is)

    I don't have any fancy quotes about bringing in the New Year. My ultimate goal for each New Year is simply to try and make it better than the last. And probably even more importantly, I try to learn from my previous mistakes, so I don't get caught in the same "booby traps" I've been in before. And that's the same mentality you should have in everything you do not just in your MLM business.

    If you failed at something before, pick yourself back up and try it again. If you quit at something, set some quick attainable goals for yourself so you can build the momentum to see it through. If you noticed that certain actions you were taking weren't helping you move forward, take new ones (don't keep trying the same things over and over again and expect different results each time - believe it or not that's the exact definition of being crazy).

    I guess one big tip I'd like to share with you, that'll hopefully kick start your New Year is, don't worry about getting everything perfect. You don't have to get it perfect - Just get it going!

    This was one of those booby traps that I was talking about earlier. I was so concerned about building the perfect site, buying the perfect leads, finding the perfect script, joining the perfect business. In my quest for "perfection" I wasted so much time and money just trying to get everything perfect, I was getting nowhere and worst than that I was going broke.

    So don't fall into one of  the many booby traps I did. Don't worry about getting it perfect, just get it going.

    Ok now that I got that off my chest, let's dive into the *Meat & Potatoes* of today's newsletter. If you've been having trouble prospecting or communicating with your prospects than this newsletter was made for you! After surfing on the internet for a little while, I stumbled onto good piece of information about prospecting from one of the Big Names in the industry - Todd Falcone.

    I'm sharing it with you guys because I know if I was aware of some of this information in my early days, I could have avoided some of the *Painful* booby traps I so easily fell into early on.

    While I realize that prospecting requires more than two thought processes, I wanted to give you two that come to mind for me when it comes to wanting to produce more business. 

    I could list all 23 Rules of a Master Prospector (as I do in a brand new series I am releasing in the 2nd week of January), but I thought it might be nice to keep it simple today, since you probably have a lot on your mind with the Holidays. 

    OK. Ready?

    So...you obviously know by now that prospecting is the only way you make money in
    network marketing.  In other words, if you aren't exposing your business to new people, then you probably aren't earning a very big check. 

    The key is to not only realize that, but then also get GOOD at that. 
    What's that?  Prospecting! 

    So, here are two simple tips to help you earn more in 2006.

    # 1 Prospecting Tip:  PAY ATTENTION

    When I say PAY ATTENTION, I really mean that.  In order for you to get better, to do more, to earn more, you have to learn from your experiences.  Experiential learning is one of the greatest types of learning of all...and really the most common type of learning in network marketing.

    Have you ever heard the term "earn while you learn"?  That's what we do in this
    business, or at least we're 'supposed' to be doing. 

    The next time you set out to prospect, I want you to pay VERY CLOSE attention to several things:

    - How do you sound on the phone?  Do you sound confident, in control, assured,
    positive and enthusiastic?

    - How does your prospect sound?  Do they sound like a successful person might
    sound?  Do they ask good questions and show sincere interest?  Do you think they are right for your business? 

    - When you either close someone or lose someone, ask yourself WHY?  What happened
    in that experience that you can learn from?

    - What are the top earners in your company using that seems to work the best?

    Not a whole lot to think about here, but you need to be paying attention to the things that work and the things that don't in your prospecting efforts. 

    The problem:  Most people don't pay attention, don't learn from their mistakes or successes and continue down a path that leads to poor production. 

    Don't be one of those people in 2006.  Pay attention EVERY DAY and learn.  It's how you will get good. 

    # 2:  Be a consistency FREAK!

    Whatever you do, be consistent.  Be consistent in your actions, your habits, your appointments, your relationships, and of course...your prospecting!

    People love consistency from others.  And...the only way, the ONLY way, the ONLY WAY you will make a big check is to stick and stay.  Get it?

    You have to be a nut when it comes to consistency.  Start your year by prospecting new people, jamming your pipeline every day with new prospects and DON'T EVER STOP the entire year. 

    You want to finally get over the $10,000 per month barrier?
    Then, you better be consistent. 

    You cannot be hot one day and cold the next.  You have to stay consistent. 
    Here are two simple areas (again, the twos!) to remain consistent:

    As I said...this stuff is SIMPLE!

    - Your attitude.  Make a commitment that no matter what happens to you this year, you will keep a positive attitude for the next 365 days, without deviating from your objective of building your company.  If you do, your check will skyrocket.
     
    - Your Pipeline.  As I said a moment ago, keep the pipeline filled with fresh prospects all year long.  Don't ever stop introducing new people to your business. 

    That's it.  Keep it simple.  You can do this.  Can't you just feel it
    already? 

    Make 2006 your BEST YEAR ever!!
